As your support needs grow, you can easily upgrade or change your Support Station plan. This guide covers how to make plan changes and what to expect.

How to Change Your Plan

Go to Settings > Billing
Click Change Plan
Select your new plan
Confirm the change

Immediate access: New features become available instantly
Prorated billing: You're charged the difference for the remaining billing period
Credit adjustment: Your AI credits increase to match the new plan immediately

Consider upgrading when:

Free → Starter

You're exceeding 100 tickets/month
You need more than 25 KB articles
You want AI agent capabilities
You need Slack or email integration

Starter → Standard

You need more than 100 KB articles
You need API access
You want webhooks for integrations
You want a custom KB domain
You're consistently using 1,500+ AI credits/month

Standard → Pro

You need advanced analytics
You want priority support
You need unlimited webhooks
You're consistently using 8,000+ AI credits/month

Downgrading Your Plan

You can also downgrade to a lower plan if your needs change.

What Happens When You Downgrade

End of billing period: The downgrade takes effect at the end of your current billing period
Feature access: You retain access to higher-tier features until the downgrade takes effect
Credit adjustment: AI credits adjust to the new plan level on the next billing period
Content preserved: All your tickets, articles, and data remain intact

Before Downgrading

Check if you're within the limits of the lower plan:

If you exceed these limits:

Articles: Existing articles remain, but you can't add new ones until under the limit
Tickets: Existing tickets remain accessible
AI Credits: AI will be disabled on Free plan

Switching Between Monthly and Annual Billing

To switch to annual billing and save 20%:

Go to Settings > Billing
Click Switch to Annual
You'll be charged the annual amount (with any remaining monthly credit applied)

To switch from annual to monthly:

Go to Settings > Billing
Click Switch to Monthly
The change takes effect when your annual term ends

FAQs

Will I lose any data when changing plans?

No. All your tickets, articles, customers, and settings are preserved when changing plans.

Can I upgrade mid-billing cycle?

Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately, and you're charged a prorated amount for the remainder of your billing period.

Can I downgrade mid-billing cycle?

Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period. You continue to have access to your current plan's features until then.

What if I'm on annual billing and want to downgrade?

Contact support to discuss options. Generally, plan changes on annual billing take effect at renewal.
