Getting Started
Quick Start Guide
Get up and running with Support Station in just a few minutes. This guide walks you through the essential setup steps to start handling customer support.
Step 1: Create Your Organization
When you first sign up, you'll create an organization. This is your workspace where all your tickets, knowledge base articles, and team members live.
- Sign up at supportstation.io
- Enter your organization name
- Choose your organization's timezone (used for reporting)
- Complete the onboarding flow
Step 2: Invite Your Team
Support Station's paid plans include unlimited team members. Add your support team right away:
- Go to Settings > Organization

- Enter their email address and select a role
- They'll receive an invitation email to join
Step 3: Set Up Your Knowledge Base
Your knowledge base powers both your public help center and your AI agent. Start by creating a few articles:
- Navigate to Knowledge Base in the sidebar
- Click New Article
- Write your first help article (start with FAQs or getting started content)
- Set the article to Published when ready
- Your article is now live at
your-org.supportstation.io/kb
Tip: The more articles you publish, the better your AI agent can help customers.
Step 4: Install the Support Widget
The support widget lets customers contact you directly from your website:
- Go to Integrations > Widget
- Copy the embed code snippet
- Paste it into your website's HTML, just before the closing
</body>tag - The widget will appear on your site
The widget offers two modes:
- Support Form: Customers submit tickets directly
- AI Chat: Customers chat with your AI agent first (available on Starter+ plans)
Step 5: Create Your First Ticket
Test the system by creating a ticket:
- Go to Tickets in the sidebar
- Click Create Ticket
- Fill in the customer email, subject, and description
- Click Create
You can also submit a test ticket through your widget to see the full customer experience.
Step 6: Organize with Tags
Tags help you categorize and route tickets:
- Go to Settings > Tags
- Create tags for common categories (e.g., "Billing", "Technical", "Feature Request")
- Apply tags to tickets to keep things organized
- Optionally, set up auto-routing to send tagged tickets to specific teams
